  • "My brief was to restore and extend a dilapidated cottage that I had purchased outside of Cork City. The site has excellent views which I was very eager to take advantage of. Seán understood my brief from the outset and he produced numerous concept sketches and physical models during the design process which enabled me to get a clear understanding of the proposed design. During the construction process, Seán had a very good rapport with the various trades and crafts people on site. Seán's excellent construction management skills, along with the skills and high standards of the trades and crafts people, ensured I got a really high quality of finish in my home. The final house exceeds all my original expectations. Each room is a very comfortable space to be in, with a great ambiance and quality of light. I would have no hesitation in recommending Fuinneamh Workshop to you."

  • The “Evolutionary Walk Pavilion” proved to be a huge success with the public during its installation in Bio-Parco, Rome. The pavilion captured the imagination and touched the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to visit the installation. In this very small space (4.2m x 4.8m), Seán succeeded in creating a rich and diverse sequence of spaces that inspired intrigue, wonder and happiness in the visitor.Seán’s modest attitude beguiles a creative and focused mind. We were delighted with his final scheme, it realised everything we sought to achieve when we set the original brief for the architectural competition

  • I am a knitwear designer and I appointed Fuinneamh Workshop to design a studio for me to work in. I found them exceptionally thorough throughout the design process. They examined in detail the site characteristics, quality of light and various views from the site which were important to me. During the design stage they produced easily read diagrams and detailed scale models of the studio which were wonderful in helping me to visualise the finished building. At the planning stage I had issues with some of the planner’s conditions. I decided to appeal to An Bord Pleanala and I found Fuinneamh Workshop exceptionally thorough in their arguments to the Bord, which enabled us to get the conditions over turned. Fuinneamh Workshop were great to deal with and I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking design or architectural service

  • As Education Curator of the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) Iam familiar with Seán Antóin Ó Muirí’s excellent teaching abilities, due to his involvement in the IAF’s National Architects in Schools Initiative. The IAF aim is to provide excellent educational experiences for young people in design and architecture. Seán’s projects with second level students have fulfilled and exceeded all expectations of the project. Seán worked with groups of Transition Year students at Ballincollig’s Coláiste Choilm under the National Architects in Schools Initiative. He inspired andencouraged the students to learn new design skills and to develop a critical voice in regard to their experience of design and architecture. In order to achieve this Seán conducted extensive well-planned workshops to introduce students to all stages of the design process, including personal research tasks, field trips, spatial investigations, drawing and model making sessions, group work and individual design assignments. The resulting students’ projects display an exceptional level of design skill, imagination and quality of presentation. Seán has a natural ability to communicating ideas, enabling students to acquire new artistic and practical skills, encouraging them to experiment with ideas and materials and to express themselves. Seán is also exceptionally professional and considerate to deal with, maintaining good communications with “HQ” and providing high quality reports and documentation of projects.

  • Seán’s buildings are humble, intimate and beautifully proportioned. He has a great sense of materiality and finds the best artisans and artists to carry out his work. There is a haptic quality to everything he designs
